RISD Rover Wheels 2017-2018
For the 2017-2018 year, I took co-lead of the composites team. We had a semester-long ISP (independent study) on composites, working with fiberglass and carbon fiber. We worked in phases that consisted of rapid prototyping, 1/2 scale carbon models, to eventually our final full-scale model. A series of tests were run along the way to check flex and stress points along the designs, this all was then accounted for in our final pre-preg layup schedule.
